Mujahideen Ryder calls upon Muslim speakers to embrace current media on the internet. Imams and Shuyookh are often stuck in between a rock and a hard place - propagating the message of Islam at the expense of livelihood or having their materials ruthlessly pirated on the internet. MR proposes a middle ground: as many mainstream media outlets have done, speakers should upload their lectures through streaming video for free, but break in the middle for a commercial. This enables viewers to acquire the benefits of ‘ilm and provides speakers the benefit of acquiring revenue and making scholarship sustainable.

This proposal is brilliant in its simplicity and I fully endorse his open letter and encourage other bloggers to do the same.
