Thoughts on the Situation in the Middle East
Everyone seems surprised that the situation in the Middle East is spiralling out of control over the capture of 2 Israeli soldiers.
Where other’s see coincidence, I see a clear design.
In my opinion, Israel’s primary strategic interest is complete pacification of the Middle East. This can only be done through the elimination of its regional enemies. The Arab states are a joke; only Iraq and Iran were serious strategic threats in the post Cold War era.
However, thanks to the American invasion of Iraq, both of these threats have been eliminated. In my opinion, all of this diplomatic flurry over Iran’s nuclear weapons are just a cover to apply pressure to Iran from getting involved in the latest edition of the Arab-Israeli conflict; this time, Israel is going to go all out.
All of the surrounding territories (Egypt, Saudi Arabia, etc) have effectively either been pacified or are just small fries anyway.
Iraq is in a complete state of anarchy. Iran can’t pass through Iraq in order aid the Palestinians/Hizbullah because the Americans are there. If they try, the Americans will attack from Afghanistan. Afghanistan won’t rebel against the Americans because their bases have been occuped (central asia and Pakistan).
Wow. Now thats what I call a geostrategy. Israel can do what it wants in that region without worrying about anything.
It isn’t a coincidence that the actions of the US government in the past few years have been extremely beneficial to the state of Israel. The War in Afghanistan and Iraq serve no other true political, economic, or ideological gain. Everyone knows that democracy will begin eroding the second American forces leave. Furthermore, the entire region has been radicalized against both America and the Western world as a whole. Lastly, the economic gains of the war (oil) are just a marginal benefit. The only logical explanation then, is the scenario I’ve described above.
The only questions that remain are: what happens next and who is going to do something about it?
May Allah
(swt) grant security to the believers, victory to the oppressed, and the destruction of the oppressors. Ameen.
