What difference can we make in the world . . .
. . . when we can’t even control our own selves?
We speak of ideologies as if they are the solution. The Qur’an has become merely a ‘constitution’. Men without beards defend the Sunnah. Those who declare Believers to be Disbelievers have an uncanny similarity to the Khwaraaj.
Slogans without substance.
Islam without iman.
We have the means, but where is the end?
Ya Allah
, save us from the wrongs we commit with our own hands! Ameen.
Raise up a leader from amongst us who will fight this fitnah and unite our Ummah! Ameen.

Most of us are sinners, but nonetheless thanks to Allah
Taala we still recognize the Truth (even in the midst of doing something wrong) and still make tauba.
The world is surely getting worse - but, as they say, the Ishq and the Frenzy vanished a long time ago, so there’s little point feeling down. Even when some of the fitnas we have today were not around, and people were *much* more religious, things were far, far from the way things should have been..our ancestors were still content with being superficial scholars at large (I’m not saying that even acheiving that level is easy). Living on biryani and hair-splitting was their practical end, while the Farangis were exploiting and looting us.. Not to take part in the blame game, but their lack of foresight resulted in the situation & depravity & decadence today. The foundation for the destruction was laid a long time ago…
At any rate, we know that their longings and attempts for revival and reforms remained for the most part just wishes - we know what they were thinking, and where things could have been improved. Our job, then, is to keep that history in mind, and more importantly, to ignite that ancient flame of Ishq once again. Only by doing so and by paying enormous attention to the action and practical side of the equation, can we ensure that our aspirations won’t go down as talk or mere dreams.
Love overcomes obstacles - frenzy within, frenzy without is what we have to create. The prophets, the sahabas, the pious predecessors were our very forefathers… so we - their sons - should be able to do at least a tiny fraction — therefore, leader or no leader, God-willing, if we develop the same Ishq and the same single-mindedness, Allah
will answer our prayers and be pleased with our humble efforts. One cannot worry too much - things take time, and everything depends on God’s own Plan.

Assalam Alaykum,
s.w.t guide all of us Inshallah, especially in todays day and age. I agree with you on this post.
Ameen to the Dua’s. May Allah
BTW- yeah, that surah is one of my favourite too because it gives a clear picture of the Day of judgement and is a clear and vivid reminder for us.
